For information and preparation of your semester abroad we advise you to talk to students and lecturers at the South Asian seminar who have already completed a stay at one of the partner universities or who keep contacts to colleagues there. We advise that you learn to know more about the stay through personal interaction. Additinally, at the International Office of the Humboldt-University during its opening hours you will also find field reports by students who went abroad.
Jawaharlal Nehru University/Delhi, Indien
The university is located, since 1976, on a campus that is spread over approximately 1000 acres of land on the Aravali range in New Delhi, which has now been turned into a green and open area though many academic buildings, hostels, and residences for faculty and staff have come up during the last forty years. Presently the university has over 7300 students, who come from all parts of the country and abroad, and from all sections of society. There are over 500 faculty members in addition to administrative staff.
Lahore University of Management Sciences/Lahore, Pakistan
One of the largest universities of Pakistan, the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is a world class academic institution with a proud history of achievement, and ambitious plans for the future. It was founded in 1984 and has presently around 2400 undergraduates and 1600 postgraduates.
Jadavpur University/Kolkata, Indien
Founding members of the National Council of Bengal, the parent body of the Jadavpur University, in 1906 set the goal "To achieve self reliance through empowerment of Youth by imparting Best of Global Knowledge". The University has two campuses – the main campus at Jadavpur and the new campus at Salt Lake – and presently around 10000 students, 5500 undergraduates and 4500 postgraduates.
