Prof Dr Jeff Good has received the Humboldt Research Award and is a guest of the department from August 2023 to July 2024.

Research activities: While in Berlin, he will work on various projects including modeling the relationship between small-scale multilingualism and the areal and historical linguistics of Africa, preparation of materials from his documentary projects in Cameroon for long-term archiving, and the development of a new project examining the typology of linguistic constituency.
 
Major research interests: The comparative and historical linguistics of Niger-Congo, documentation of endangered languages of Cameroon, morphosyntactic typology
