Lecture Series: New Trends in Area Studies Theorizing: Between Deconstruction and Reconstruction
Time: Thursday, 10:00 - 12:00
Location: Dorotheenstraße 24, Room 1.504
Open to BA and MA students
This lecture series is designed to create a laboratory-like atmosphere, enabling lecturers and students to discuss area studies theory in detail. Lecturers select a single text that deals explicitly with theoretical issues, present the text, its author, and its theoretical argument and discuss why the text/author was chosen. The students will read the text in advance and have then the opportunity to discuss the theoretical issues the text/author raises as well as the reasons for the lecturer’s selection of the text/theory with the lecturer him or herself.
